#potterpals Chatroom Rules

By connecting to the room, you agree to abide by these rules. The @ops and %ops reserve the right to kick any person for violation of the rules, or for whatever they deem necessary. For violating chatroom rules, kicks are the norm. Repeated violations will result in a timed ban. Permanent bans are handed out as a last resort. If you ever feel you have been dealt with unfairly after being kicked, contact any op.

Game Room/The Bots

The bots are around for your pleasure, and everyone else's. However, since they can easily be abused, abuse won't be tolerated. While the bots could have certain functions disabled, they shouldn't have to be reconfigured because you cannot follow the rules.

• Currently, we have a channel set up specifically for trivia, uno, as well as other little games, #pptrivia (it's called that because we started out with only Trivia at first). Games like Trivia, UNO, and Hangman will always be played in this room. You join #pptrivia in addition to the main chatroom automatically through the java web chat. If using the Flash chat, you will need to type /join #pptrivia to join the room after you connect. For #pptrivia commands, visit the channel commands page

• All regular discussion is to be made in the main chat, #potterpals.
  
  
• Smaller games, such as pickpocket and bomb, can be used in the main channel, #potterpals. However, please be respectful of others talking in the main chatroom, and do not "spam" with the games in the chatroom while others are having conversations. If you want to play with the smaller games more, please use the #pptrivia channel to do so.
  
  
• If you have a problem with the bots, find bugs, or incorrect trivia questions/answers, then report them to Fiendfyre, preferably by PM on Potter Forums.
  
  
• If somehow you find yourself having powers to kick and ban, do NOT kick the bots. They aren't always able to return, and if that's the case, it could be hours before the owner can make them return.

User Conduct

• To put it simply, don't be rude. No fights, slurs, no constant insults thrown at one another, and we'll all be fine. We're here to have fun and make friends.
  
  
• Keep in mind the game rules listed above.
  
  
• Keep the cussing to a minimum. You may want to vent, and that's fine, but we don't want to hear it completely full of obscenities. Most people won't mind it except when you're cussing up a storm. Also, strong vulgarities won't be tolerated.
  
  
• Try to keep the topics of conversation semi-clean. Just nothing outrageous, disrespectful, or demeaning. There are such things as lines that can be crossed. Keep it PG-13 - this is #potterpals, not #sexchat. If minors aren't around at the time (usually late at night), then this rule is more relaxed.
  
  
• If you are kicked from the room for a specific reason, do NOT come back into the room to flame or demand an apology. Ops will warn you for a reason first, and then resort to kicking you. But if you go back into the room with a bad attitude, you'll be kicked again. And if you repeat that, then someone will most likely ban you for a couple hours. If you feel you have been treated unfairly, you need to tell another op preferably by PM on Potter Forums, or an SOP. A list of ops can be found below. Additionally, if you find yourself banned and want to contest it, PM an SOP.
